The Current State of Healthcare In The United States

Healthcare in the United States has gone beyond the reach of the most vulnerable. According to an article published by the National Library of Medicine, It has been estimated that, on average, Americans receive about half of the medical care recommended. A survey conducted by International Citizens Insurance placed the United States last when it comes to access to care, administrative efficiency, equity, and healthcare outcomes. At the same time, Norway, the Netherlands, and Australia are the top performers. The same survey places several third-world country’s healthcare systems above the US. Countries such as Jamaica were placed 67th, and Trinidad and Tobago 64th, which was ahead of the United States 69th placement.
